Case study - Redesign of the spare parts distribution system in Europe

 

The Purchasing and Procurement Department of an automotive group is launching a study with the aim of optimising the transport and storage costs of spare parts, while maintaining the same service level and meeting delivery deadlines for all distribution centres in the countries concerned (Poland, Hungary, Germany, Italy).

 

The project consists of two lots: the first concerning parts from Romania and the second concerning parts from Turkey.

 

The objective is to establish direct flows between suppliers (Turkey and Romania) and distribution centres without having to go through the warehouses in France that supplied all countries.

Coordinate the various stakeholders to enable the transition from a centralised organisation to a direct flow logistics system.

• Impact studies (business and IT) and feasibility studies for the various scenarios,

 

• Selection of the target scenario,

 

• Implementation of the selected solution Post-project follow-up and evaluation/validation of gains achieved.
